Full Stack Engineer

Software video production is time-consuming, people-intensive, and the content goes out of date with every new release. The Videate platform automatically generates high-quality videos on every software release using AI, automation, and text-to-speech. Videate makes software videos easy.

We are hiring a Full Stack Engineer to drive the development of our customer-facing applications and video rendering engine. Your day-to-day work will involve end-to-end development of features that span our React frontend, through the core API to the backing services that drive these features. While you will work independently, you will be part of a team of full-stack developers working together to achieve the team goals.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will show architectural leadership by growing our customer-facing capabilities. It is expected that you can take high-level architectural instructions, communicate plans and progress to the team, ensure that design goals are met, and see that all necessary testing is included in development efforts.

Candidates should have a strong understanding of separation of concerns, be familiar with Clean Architecture, be an expert with REST API design, and be familiar with common Message Queue messaging patterns.

You will be a senior engineer on a team that develops:

  • The Videate React web app

  • Our TypeScript Clean Architecture Core API communicating with various backing services

  • Message Queue communication protocols between other Videate backend services

You will work with these technologies:

  • ReactJS Frontend

  • TypeScript API Backend

  • PostgreSQL

  • AWS Services

  • Cypress

  • BASH/command line

  • Redis

  • AWS SNS+SQS Message Queue

Candidates should have:

  • 7-10 years professional Full-Stack and/or API Development

  • Experience building sophisticated React web applications

  • Extensive experience building RESTful APIs

  • Strong SQL and database knowledge

  • Experience working with AWS cloud services

  • Fundamental systems operations knowledge

  • Familiarity with common enterprise messaging patterns

  • Extensive experience with test-driven development
